"I and three others dined this evening in The Horseshoe Inn and Lodge Eddleston about 17 miles south of Edinburgh. The food was outstanding in every way - delicious, artistic, creative, correct amount, imaginative, different, elegantly served, wonderful blend of tastes and the chef, Patrick supported by his partner Vivienne and an excellent team deserve to be inspected by a Michelin representative if anyone does. I have eaten all over the world and I really think this was the best meal but one I have ever tasted. Tonight was in a small inn very near my own home - unpretentious, tastefully decorated with tremendous attention to detail but very remarkable."
