Gold Eat Scotland Award
The Horseshoe Inn situated within the picturesque Scottish Borders has been awarded the prestigious Gold Eat Scotland Award.
The impressive restaurant with rooms received the latest accolade following a visit by one of Eat Scotland’s representatives earlier this month. They achieved the award by meeting the organisation’s standards at an outstanding level for hospitality and service from staff as well as the appearance, quality, balance, flavour and use of fresh ingredients in the dishes.
Chef Director, Patrick Bardoulet’s variety of seasonal dishes, canapés/petit fours, choice of homemade breads and quality of sauces/accompaniments, all exceeded the Eat Scotland entry standard.
Vivienne Bardoulet, managing director of the Horseshoe Inn said: “We are delighted to be one of only eight restaurants in Scotland and the first establishment in the south of Scotland to receive such an esteemed award. We provide a high standard of service and culinary indulgence for our customers which we hope they will continue to enjoy.”
The Horseshoe Inn, a former blacksmith’s shop was refurbished in 2005 by Patrick and Vivienne Bardoulet. Bardoulet’s Restaurant, winner of 3 AA rosettes and AA restaurant of the year 2008 for Scotland and Northern Ireland offers a range of culinary delights from the A La Carte and Table D’ Hote menus.
As well as an award-winning fine dining restaurant and bistro there are also eight individually decorated bedrooms. The luxurious accommodation, awarded 4 AA stars, is located within the Lodge, a former Victorian primary school and comprises of five doubles, two twins and a spacious family room.
